Country Availability and Statutory Feature Register
Last updated: 28 July 2026
This register explains where HisaBooks currently shows public pricing, where Free Starter or paid web checkout may be offered, and which country-specific statutory engines are actually implemented today. It is a product/launch register, not legal, tax, payroll, or regulatory advice.
1. How HisaBooks decides country behavior
| Signal | Where it comes from | What it controls |
|---|---|---|
| Pricing region | Public marketing links and browser/location hint | Chooses the public SGD, INR, or USD pricing view only. It is a sales/marketing starting point, not a statutory or billing decision. |
| Billing country | Confirmed at paid checkout | Used for billing-market evidence and review of whether the selected pricing path matches the buyer context. |
| Legal country | Company Profile confirmation inside the app | Controls country-specific statutory setup, tax automation, and payroll/localization readiness for the company workspace. |
| Tax region | Derived from legal-country setup review | Current values are `PENDING` for unconfirmed legal country, `NONE` for confirmed countries without a country pack, and `SG` or `IN` for implemented Singapore/India engines. |
In practice, this means a browser in Singapore can be shown SGD pricing, but the company still needs to confirm its own legal country in Company Profile before Singapore statutory workflows are treated as ready. The same separation applies to India and to all other countries.
2. Current market register
| Market | Planning currency | Free Starter | Paid web checkout | Country-specific automation | Launch review state | Current note |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Singapore paid launch path | SGD | Free Starter available | Web checkout is implemented for the Singapore billing market, and public pricing and purchase flows both use the same Singapore country gate. | Singapore-specific GST and payroll/statutory engines are available in the workspace after legal-country confirmation. | Singapore setup note: Singapore companies should confirm GST registration status, seller details, and primary currency inside Company Profile before invoicing. | Do not add Singapore GST while AARK NETWORK PTE. LTD. is not GST-registered. Initial paid posture is B2B only. |
| India paid launch path | INR | Free Starter available | Web checkout is implemented behind the India billing-country gate. Paid India launch use must stay aligned with the reviewed India launch posture and customer-facing tax wording. | India GST document treatment and India payroll/statutory support exist in-product, but the paid India launch still depends on the reviewed India OIDAR / B2B-B2C posture and approved invoice wording. | India setup note: India companies should confirm GST details, legal billing identity, and primary currency inside Company Profile before invoicing. | Do not assume "no India tax". Keep GST treatment, GSTIN evidence, reverse-charge handling, and invoice wording tied to the reviewed India launch posture. |
| Global USD planning path | USD | Free Starter available | Global USD checkout uses billing-country confirmation. Singapore and India billing are redirected to their local pricing paths, and other countries stay on the USD expansion path. | Country-specific tax and payroll automation stay off unless that country is explicitly implemented and approved. | Global setup note: USD pricing is the starting point for countries outside Singapore and India. Confirm your legal country and primary currency in the app before live selling, and note that country-specific tax automation stays off unless that market is later supported. | IP location only suggests public pricing. It must never silently become legal country. |
The market register is intentionally stricter than public pricing alone. India, Singapore, and Global wording must stay aligned with the shared launch review state so the billing-country gate, invoice wording, and country-specific automation do not drift.
3. Current statutory feature register
| Capability | Singapore (`SG`) | India (`IN`) | Other countries (`NONE` after legal-country confirmation) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Billing and finance documents | Singapore GST setup, GST treatment support, non-GST posture, and company-country-aware billing defaults. | India GST treatment support, HSN/SAC context, CGST / SGST / IGST fields, and India purchase/sales treatment helpers. | Shared billing workflows remain available, but country-specific statutory tax automation is off when tax region is `NONE`. |
| Payroll and people statutory support | Singapore payroll/statutory setup, CPF configuration, AIS / IR8A preparation, IR21 workflow, and related readiness pages. | India payroll support baseline and India statutory/payroll preparation surfaces inside the company workspace. | Core HR and payroll workflows may still be used, but no country-specific statutory engine is represented as implemented. |
Current tax-region values are PENDING when the company has not yet confirmed its legal country, NONE when the legal country is confirmed but there is no country pack, and SG or IN when the implemented Singapore or India engines are enabled for that company.
4. Future-country expansion rule
HisaBooks expands statutory/tax automation one country pack at a time. A new country is not treated as "supported" merely because the general workspace, Free Starter, or USD pricing can be used there.
- New country support requires a reviewed market decision, country-specific product work, public wording updates, and launch evidence.
- Until that happens, companies outside Singapore and India can still use shared workflows after confirming legal country and primary currency, but country-specific automation remains off.
